Change is in the air at Gliding Australia. We’re taking steady strides into our next chapter and are pleased to introduce some fresh faces to the team.
Meet Our New CEO – Doug Flockhart
With a rich background in leadership, associations, nonprofit organisations, governance, and innovation, Doug has donned various roles as a CEO, owner, consultant, and non-executive director. As an aviator, Doug earned his Private Pilot License at age 16, in later years obtained his Command Instrument Rating and he also introduced the first Cirrus SR20 to Australia. Importantly, he’s been
seduced by gliding, having been a former member of the Kingaroy Soaring Club and serving as Club President for a term. With a genuine passion for aviation and extensive leadership experience, Doug
brings a wealth of knowledge to Gliding Australia.
Steering Our Operations – Dave Boulter – Executive Manager of Operations (EMO)
Dave’s name might sound familiar to many, especially if you’ve been around gliding circles since the ’90s. His deep-rooted passion for gliding, combined with a strong corporate background where he has shown his prowess in strategic planning and execution, makes him a perfect fit for the Executive Manager of Operations seat. In the gliding world, Dave’s contributions go beyond instructing; he’s been an instructor for three decades, served on club level committees, took on leadership roles including President of the NSW Gliding Committee, and had a significant tenure as the Vice President of Gliding Australia.

What’s exciting is the synergy Doug and Dave bring. Their combined experiences, expertise, and,
most importantly, their passion for the sport promise to shape a vibrant future for Gliding Australia.
