Gliding Australia is incredibly supportive of young people achieving their gliding goals and ambitions. For many years, gliding has been considered arguably one of the best ways to start a career in aviation. Nearly everyone knows a highly successful military or commercial pilot who started their journey with Gliding Australia.
In gliding, a ‘junior’ is any member 25 years of age or younger. Our juniors are specifically supported by the national, decentralised body for Junior gliding; the Australian Junior Gliding Club Inc.
More recently, the mental and technological challenge often associated with our sport has been linked to high compatibility in various fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Gliding clubs are a fantastic place for young people to find advice and guidance in this field.
If you are a parent or a motivated young person looking for an activity, sport or hobby to both have fun and further yourself – look no further. With incredible depth of opportunities available to young people within Gliding Australia, you won’t be disappointed.
