ITP is Launching Soon!
What is the Intrgrated Training Program (ITP)?
The current GFA training system for ab-initio to GPC students hasn’t been significantly updated in the past 20 years. Consequently, the training system focuses more on pre-solo training and one of the goals of the updated ITP is to modernise and standardise post-solo to GPC training by integrating instructing and coaching.
The ITP has been updated over the past 2+ years by a dedicated team of instructors and coaches and provides more training resources for trainers and students to improve training effectiveness and efficiency.
How will we transition to the ITP?
When the ITP is launched later this month, all the necessary training materials will be easily accessed on the training page of the Gliding Australia website.
To have a nationally consistent approach, the ITP will be initially launched via a series of Zoom meetings to all RMOs, Level 3 instructors, CFIs and Soaring Development Managers with recordings available for subsequent viewing. Subsequent face to face briefings will be cascaded down to regions and club training panels.
All clubs are expected to transition to the ITP over the next 12 months. Instructors will receive gap training in how to use the new training materials and what instructional sequences have been standardised.
Students who have not yet achieved their GPC will be able to start using the new training materials. All students who have purchased the old logbook in the last 6 months will receive a free replacement GPC logbook. You can keep the original logbook and either copy the information into the new GPC logbook or just follow on from their next flight. As a one-off exercise, Trainers will transcribe completed units of competency into the new GPC Logbook.
Glider Pilot Training Records will no longer be used as the content is included in the GPC Logbook. Clubs with stocks of unused GPTR will receive free replacement GPC logbooks.
