Gliding on Show at Avalon 2025
That’s a wrap on another successful airshow! Avalon 2025 delivered once again—huge crowds, stunning displays, and great conversations. We were proud to be part of it, and even more so to be recognised with the award for Best Innovative Aviation Product or Service.
We had a keen and dedicated group of volunteers who helped bring the display together—setting up the simulator, preparing the DG300, and making sure everything was ready for the thousands of visitors passing through. Most importantly, they helped create a welcoming, informative space where people could learn more about gliding, ask questions, and see what our sport is all about.
A special thank you to Daryl Bishop, whose coordination behind the scenes helped bring all the moving parts together seamlessly.

The Simulator That Stole the Show
The simulator proved to be a major drawcard, with constant interest from all age groups. Whether it was curious kids, first-time flyers, or seasoned pilots, the simulator offered an engaging and hands-on experience. It was especially great to see new glider girls and boys getting excited about the sport—many taking their first virtual flight and walking away inspired.
A Big Moment for Gliding
Being recognised at Avalon, Australia’s largest aviation showcase, is more than just a win for the team—it’s a big step forward for gliding as a whole. Sharing the stage with defence, commercial, and cutting-edge aerospace innovation puts gliding firmly on the radar for thousands of attendees who may not have considered it before.
For many, this was their first introduction to the sport, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. The simulator acted as a perfect entry point—an approachable, exciting experience that helped break down the perception that gliding is out of reach. It opened the door to conversations about learning to glide, joining a club, and exploring aviation in a more personal and accessible way.
Thanks to everyone who helped make Avalon 2025 a memorable and meaningful experience.
