Badges and Records

This page is for glider pilots seeking to declare, claim badge flights, or for initial record notifications.

Earning badges in gliding is not just about showcasing one’s skills or gaining recognition. It’s about personal development, setting new benchmarks, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, whether you’re striving for your first distance achievement or aiming for a prestigious international badge.

Badge Declaration

This is only required if the task can’t be loaded into a Position Recorder. The form needs to be submitted before the flight has commenced.

Badge Claim

This form is for badge claims and requires an IGC file upload. It can be filled out by the Pilot or Official Observer. A confirmation will be emailed to the Pilot, Official Observer, and the FAI badge officer for review.

Initial Record Notification

This form is for the initial Notification of a Gliding record. This needs to be completed within 7 days of the flight.
